仏の国際帽子コンクール「麦部門」
京のデザイナー １位の快挙
「オプアート」 大胆な色使い評価
ヨーロッパ屈指の帽子の産地、フランス南部のコサッド市で今年７月に開かれた国際帽子コンクールで、京都市左京区のアトリエ「STUDIO HIRANO KYOTO JAPON」所属の帽子デザイナー寺沢富美さん（大阪府東大阪市）が「麦部門」の１位を受賞した。
同コンクールは今年で18年目を迎え、一流ブランドの帽子デザイナーらが審査員を務める。
3部門あるが、同アトリエの平野徳太郎代表によると「現地の地場産業である麦素材の帽子で、外国人デザイナーが1位を獲得したのは快挙」という。
寺沢さんの作品のテーマは「オプアート」で、錯覚による視覚的効果を狙った幾何学的・抽象的な美術作品のこと。「ちょっと不思議なラインが出るように」と広いつばがところどころ波打った型の上から、ベージュ、水色、紺の3色の５ミリ幅の麦ブレード（麦わらをテープ状に編んだもの）を丁寧に張り付けた。
「それぞれの色の分量、構成に一番気を使った」という。同部門に出品された約40点の中で、大胆な色使いの美しさや完成されたフォルムなどが高い評価を得た。
作品は9月中、コンクール会場に展示されており、今後、同アトリエの作品展などで披露する予定。
寺沢さんは「目指すのは、かぶった人が素敵に見える帽子。
『シンプルできれい』が一番難しいけれど、そこにたどり着けるようにつくっていきたい」と話していた。

A designer in Kyoto won the 1st prize at "straw section" in the international hat contest in France
"Op art" evaluated its bold color use
In the international hat contest held in July, this year in Caussade, Septfonds in southern France, the leading place of production of hat in Europe, Fumi Terasawa (Higashiosaka-shi, Osaka), hat designer at atelier "STUDIO HIRANO KYOTO JAPON" of Sakyo-ku, Kyoto-shi was awarded the 1st place of the "straw section”.
The contest marks the 18th year this year and the hat designers of a first-class brand are on the jury at the competition.
The contest is consisted of 3 sections, and according to Mr. Tokutaro Hirano, President of the atelier; "It's a feat as a foreign designer to win the 1st prize in the section of straw material, which is the local industry of the site."
The theme of Mis. Terasawa's work is "Op art,"-- the geometric and abstract art work which aims the visual effect by illusion.
"To make a little wonder line"-- On the chip with wide brim partially waved 3 colors of beige, blue and dark blue 5-mm width wheat braids (straw woven into tape form) are carefully attached.
She says, "What I most focused was the volume and arrangement of respective colors."
Among 40 competitive hats in the section, the beauty of its bold color use and completed form received high evaluation.
The work is exhibited at the contest hall during September and will be on the work exhibition of the atelier in the future.
Mis. Terasawa said "My ideal hat is what the person who wears it looks strikingly.
“Simple and beautiful” is the most difficult, but I try to make hats to realize such style."
